New Displays

The displays put up before the Annual yardsale are still up and easily viewed. They may be viewed during open hours or by special appointment. Thde displays consist of 1. an early 20th century ladies fashions displayed on dress forms and hung around the area. They were the clothing of the great grand mother of one of the members. Another display 2. is on the Sheldon Town Band and consists of pictures, atricles of their uniforms and some of the instruments used by them. A third display is the display containing glassware, there are sets of dinner plates, cups, saucers, and others that as a child at a relatives family holiday meal brought memories to me. The fourth is a combined display of the Civil War. There is a case containing replicas of cannon and field-pieces used, sorry they are not actual sized but are to scale. There are also records of the men from the Town of Sheldon who seved in this war. A table display contains a card with the name of the Sheldon soldier, unit he was in and rank. There is also a saddle of the era and clothing and artifacts of the war. The final part to the display is a notebook containing the names and articles of the Sheldon soldiers from the Revolutionary War to Desert Storm. It is very interesting and worth the time spent viewing them, please pay a visit to the School House.
